TeleSkin ApS (“TeleSkin″) is committed to protecting your personal information and privacy. This Privacy & Security Policy applies to the service provided via the mobile application known as SkinScan ( / / / / / (“Services”). We respect your privacy and integrity and strive to take all reasonable steps to protect your privacy when we collect, store, use and protect your personal information. As part of this responsibility, we let you know what personal information we collect when you use our products and services, why we collect it, and how we use it to improve your experience. “Information” means information about an identifiable individual, such as an email address, a photograph of the individual. We comply with the relevant legislation in the jurisdictions we operate in.

We will, from time to time, collect, receive and store personal information provided via our website or in the course of our Services, from a customer, provided to us directly or given to us in other forms.

Individuals may provide basic information such as their name, phone number, address and email address to us directly, to enable us to send information, provide updates and process a product or service order. We may collect additional information at other times, including but not limited to, when individuals provide feedback, or when they provide information about personal or business affairs, change content or email preferences, respond to surveys and/or promotions or provide financial or credit card information.

We collect and hold personal information to provide the Services to all of our users. Personal information collected by us may include but is not limited to information that is collected:

  • at the time of registering an account with the Services;
  • at any other stage that a user provides us with personal information through their use of the Services; or
  • by us through tracking your use of the Services, including the content you access.

Personal information collected by us through skinScan consists of the following, and constitutes a “Case”:

  • Upon registration
    • Username and email address (used for registration / login purposes)
    • your email address will also be used for mailing purposes
    • age – as a part of data sent for case processing by automated algorithm
    • gender – as a part of data sent for case processing by automated algorithm
  • During case submission
    • Images of the user’s skin condition. We encourage users to submit images that are regarded as having no identifying features.

We may also collect personal information through your general use of the Services and aggregated information generated by our systems.  Such information tracks traffic to and within the Services, but does not relate to you personally.

Individuals generally have the right not to identify themselves when dealing with us where it is lawful and practicable for us to allow it. However, on many occasions we will not be able to do this, and provide our Services to our customers.

  1. Purpose of collection

We will collect and use personal information for the purpose of operating the Services and for the purposes set out below, unless otherwise permitted or required by law. Such purposes may include but are not limited to:

  • to assist in providing better services to you by tailoring them to meet your needs;
  • to provide you with further information about us or other websites or apps or services offered by us or our partner companies;
  • for market research and surveys by ourselves and our authorised sponsors;
  • to keep the Services relevant and of interest to users;
  • analysis in aggregate form (identifiable characteristics removed so that you will remain anonymous); and
  • any other purpose which is stated to you at the time of collection or that you otherwise authorise.

Personal information comprising images of moles and other medical data will not be shared with any third party unless the data is anonymised.

Europe: If you choose to provide us with your personal information by using the Services, you are agreeing to the processing and storage of your information in the EU. Your information will be collected and held by Teleskin at Skolegade 7, 2nd Fl, 6700 Esbjerg, Denmark.

Australia: If you choose to provide us with your personal information by using the Services, you are agreeing to the processing and storage of your information in Australia and Europe. Your information will be collected and held by Teleskin at Skolegade 7, 2nd Fl, 6700 Esbjerg, Denmark.

New Zealand: If you choose to provide us with your personal information by using the Services, you are agreeing to the processing and storage of your information in Australia and Europe. Your information will be collected and held by Teleskin at Skolegade 7, 2nd Fl, 6700 Esbjerg, Denmark.

On iOS, an Apple Push Notification Token, which is generated by the users’ device, is stored to allow for a Push Notification when a) the Customers Case has been answered and remind of any outstanding Cases to be answered or b) notifications related to the skinScan application or other information.

  1. Use of your personal information

We may use, share, transfer, or disclose your personal information and/or usage statistics, ourselves or in conjunction with third parties, for the purpose of providing feedback on images of moles and for fraud prevention, demographic studies and medical studies, development of our productsand services and to tailor SkinScan content and services to its users’ needs

We may disclose your personal information to other parties for the purposes set out in section 3 above. Such entities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Our authorised sponsors
  • Any parent companies, subsidiaries, joint ventures, or other companies under common control, in which event we will require that such companies follow this Policy with respect to your personal information. If these companies follow other privacy practices you will be provided with prior written notice.

We may also disclose personal information to any of our employees, officers, insurers, professional advisers, agents, suppliers, customers or subcontractors insofar as reasonably necessary for the purposes set out in this Policy.

We may from time to time need to disclose personal information to comply with a legal requirement, such as a law, regulation, court order, subpoena, warrant, in the course of a legal proceeding or in response to a law enforcement agency request.

We may also use personal information to protect our copyright, trademarks, legal rights, property or safety, and that of our customers or third parties.

If there is a proposed or actual change of control in our business or a sale or transfer of business assets, we reserve the right to transfer to the extent permissible at law our user databases, together with any personal information and non-personal information contained in those databases. This information may be disclosed to a potential purchaser under an agreement to maintain confidentiality. We would seek to only disclose information in good faith and where required by any of the above circumstances.

By providing us with personal information, individuals consent to the terms of this Privacy Policy and the types of disclosure covered by this Policy.  Where we disclose personal information to third parties, we will request that the third party follow this Policy regarding handling of personal information.

We may send users emails including a) SkinScan emails when their Cases have been responded to, as well as updates and notices about their Case, their accounts and new features and policies and b) SkinScan e-mails related to the SkinScan application.

  1. Security and Data Retention

TeleSkin uses multiple security procedures and practices to protect from loss, unauthorized access, destruction, use, modification and disclosure, and other misues of users’ personal information.

All personal information is password protected. All passwords use encryption.

skinScan uses third party services to process payments (Apple iTunes).

TeleSKin’s main servers are hosted by a third party provider in a private and secure environment.

Despite these security procedures and practices, as is the case with all computer networks connected to the Internet, TeleSkin cannot guarantee the security of your personal information or any other information provided over the Internet and will not be responsible for breaches of security.

Please keep in mind though that whenever you pass on personal information online there is a risk that third parties may intercept and use that information. While TeleSkin strives to protect its user’s personal information and privacy, we cannot guarantee the security of any information you disclose online and you do so at your own risk.

We retain your account information and the information provided by you in the form of Cases for so long as we determine is necessary, at which time we may delete and/or aggregate and store it in aggregate form indefinitely.

  1. Our Commitment to Children’s Privacy

TeleSkin is particularly concerned with safeguarding the privacy of children. The Services are not directed to persons under 18 or other relevant age of majority in their jurisdiction. Minors are prohibited from using the Site and Service. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with personal information without the parent’s or guardian’s consent, he or she should contact us. If we become aware that a minor has provided us with personal information without consent, we will delete such information from our systems. IF YOU ARE UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGE OR THE AGE OF MAJORITY IN YOUR JURISDICTION, THEN YOU MAY NOT USE OR ACCESS THE SERVICE AT ANY TIME OR IN ANY MANNER. A parent or guardian may submit a Case of a minor and may communicate with us in order to provide and obtain information concerning the person’s Case.

TeleSkin may, including through third parties, receive anonymous/non personal information relating to you (typically behavioral data). This takes place through Apple’s Advertising Identifier (IDFA). You can reset this function under Settings/Privacy on your Apple device. You can also disable add tracking at the same place.

Improving Site

We are constantly working on making the website better. To do this we use Google Analytics to analyze our visitors’ behavior, completely anonymous program.

Google Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service from Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies”, which are text files placed on your computer to help the website analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about how you use the website (including your IP address) is sent to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google uses this information from TeleSkin to evaluate how you use the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and other services related to website activity and internet usage to the provider of the website.

However, note that if you do this, you may not use all TeleSkin’s functions.
